For the past hour I have been contemplating on what
to write for this blog post. Should I
write about something that happened today?
Nothing is coming to mind. What about
something I saw on the news? Even though
there might be several news related blog post I could write about I don't think I'm in
the mood to write about them now. Ok
then, let’s expand my mind. The first
word I think of is what I will write about.
The word I'm thinking about is, (I’m pretty sure you already guessed
it) PERSEVERE.
Persevere is a very powerful word in the English
language. It builds us up even when we
are broken down. It reminds us to keep
pushing; that better days are around the corner. Once we get to that corner where the grass is
greener we can look back on the obstacles that held us down and realize that those
situations, those issues did not make us weak.
Everything that happened and will happen was put there to make you
stronger.
One of my favorite perseverance quotes is by English
literary writer Samuel Johnson who said, “Great works are performed, not by
strength, but by perseverance.” It’s not
always about what you do when things are going your way; it’s what you do when
things aren’t.
As an example I had no clue what to write
about. Instead of giving up and shutting
down the computer I decided to plant myself at my desk and work through the
difficulty. Perseverance at its best!
